Nailed it with generic feedback with no action plan is just gross toxic leadership. It's designed to keep people in their place.

I agree. Sometimes I think, oh they’re just a poor leader and don’t know what they’re doing. But you’re absolutely correct that in many cases, this is done by design. A horrible, inhumane practice.

Great discussion. You talk about repair and how powerful it is, and I agree that repair is a critical part of any relationship. I think what often gets missed at work is the simple fact that we are still dealing with relationships. The setting may be professional, but many of the same principles still apply. Repair matters at work for the same reason it matters anywhere else: human beings are involved.

I completely agree! At work we’re asked to ‘be professional’, but the reality is that we’re still people and need to be dealt with as such.
